1.
TITLE
The
Club shall be called “The National Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club”.
2.
OBJECTS
The
objects of the Club shall be to promote and encourage the breeding and
exhibition of Netherland Dwarf Rabbits and to protect the interest of Club
Members.
3.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership
of the Club shall be open to all, though the Executive may, in it’s absolute
direction, and without assigning a reason therefore refuse any candidate for
membership. The Club shall have membership categories; (1) Full individual
members paying an Adult subscription an O.A.P subscription if a pensioner,
Partnership, all to have one vote, Family subscriptions to have two votes and a
year Year Book and (2) Juveniles no vote. That any person who does not live in
the British Isles should not be accepted as a full member
of the National Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club, the right to vote being
withheld. All other facilities should be available to such persons subject to
the costs being covered by their fees.
4.
AREA AFFILIATIONS
That
the existing Affiliated Area Clubs, Northern; Midland; Southern; West of England
and South Wales; East Anglian; Scotland and North East pay an annual affiliation
fee of £5.00 (Five Pounds)
5.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Members
shall pay the appropriate fee set in advance by the Executive Committee.
Fanciers joining the Club after 31st October shall be entitled to
membership until the end of the following year. The Club’s financial year
shall end on the 31st October.
6.
MANAGEMENT
The
General Management of the Club shall be conducted by an Executive comprising
Club Officers, President, Three Vice Presidents, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Hon.,
Secretary, Treasurer and Year Book Editor, Press Rep(s), and a Committee of
eight members, also a named representative from each affiliated Area Club. Such
nominees being members of the National Club and Additional to Executive members
elected by ballot of the National Club members. The executive shall conduct its
business either at Executive meetings (five persons to constitute a quorum) or
by postal communication which ever shall from time to time be determined by the
majority of the Executive.
In
addition, the Executive shall have the power to:-
(a)
Appoint for each recognised Area an investigation Committee of three
members residing in that Area to enquire into and deal with any complaint which
may be made against a member, Club Judge or Show in that Area.
(b)
Appoint a Cup Steward.
(c)
Deal with any question not covered by the Club Rules. The day-to-day
management of the Club shall be carried out by the Honorary Secretary/treasurer,
whose out of pocket expenses in attending Executive and General meetings of the
Club and Club Shows, shall be met out of Club funds. No member shall hold more
than one Club Office or a place on the Committee.
7.
BALLOT
Nominations
for Officer, Committee, Judges and Auditors to be in the hands of the Secretary
by the 1st JUNE each year. The Secretary shall notify each full
individual member, adult family member and adult partnership through the Fancy
Press, at least two weeks prior to 1st JUNE that nominations are
required. Nominations shall only be accepted in writing for all Officers,
Committee, and judges
from full individual members and will be automatically renominated unless
the Secretary is notified to the contrary by the individual. Adult family
members and Adult partnerships whose subscriptions for the current year were
paid on or before 15th April, this restriction also applying to
nominees.
Anyone
nominated to the ballot for the Judges Panel must have been a member for a
minimum of three consecutive years.
The
name of Officials and Judges to be given on the paper, even though these be
returned unopposed. The ballot to be scrutinised by an independent person
appointed by the B.R.C. for this purpose, each individual Member, Adult family
and Adult partnership shall be sent a ballot paper on or before 1st
October. The ballot papers
shall be despatched to reach members two weeks before required date of
receipt by Scrutineer.
Any vacancies, which may occur, shall be filled by the highest placed
unsuccessful nominee in the appropriate section of the ballot. The election of a
member shall only be confirmed upon the receipt by the Secretary of the
member’s subscription for his/her year of office, subject to the provisions of
Rule 5. Persons so elected duly take up official duties for 1st
January following the ballot.
8.
JUDGES PANEL
The
Club shall have a panel of Judges comprising FORTY Judges elected at the
Club’s Annual Ballot, together with a Panel of Life Judges selected according
to the criteria laid down by the Committee together with Judges selected by the
recognised Area Netherland Dwarf Clubs, from amongst resident members in their
own areas. (TWO Judges from each Area Club).
9.
CLUB SHOWS
The
Club will stage each year a Summer Show, Young Stock Show, and Adult Stock Show,
together with any further Shows, which the Annual General Meeting may deem
required from time to time. Judges for all shows to be elected by the Annual
Ballot, such Judges to be full individual Members. At all Club Shows a maximum
fee of £1.00 shall be paid plus reasonable travelling expenses. That all shows
be suitable venues selected by the Executive Committee. Trophies except where
specially stated by their donors shall be awarded in straight Breed Classes only
and shall be for competition amongst members of at least one calendar months
standing. Members winning Club Trophies shall be responsible for the safe
keeping of the same whilst in their custody, and shall return same to the Cup
Steward within fourteen days of receiving a written request to do so.
10.
GENERAL MEETING
Annual
General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting shall be held within a sixty-mile
radius of Birmingham. The exact date and venue to be decided by the Executive
and notified to all members. All items for the Agenda shall be in the hands of
the Secretary at least one calendar month before the meeting. At the A.G.M ANY
person may be elected a Life Member of the Club for services rendered to the
club. A
statement of Accounts signed by the Auditors shall be presented at the A.G.M.
Special
General Meetings. A Special General Meeting of the Club may be convened at any
time by the Executive. The Secretary if he be so requested to do so in writing
by at least 50 (fifty) adult members of at least twelve months standing in the
Club, shall convene a Special General Meeting within 56 days of the receipt of
such a request. The Notice of the meeting shall be through the Fancy Press at
least 14 days prior to the meeting.
11.
SHOW SUPPORT
Club
support shall be automatically granted to all B.R.C. Shows, be they, one, two or
three stars. Such support being subject to the following; - That a Club Judge
officiates, and that a minimum if two classes be scheduled, these to be at least
one class for whites and one class for coloured. Support shall not be granted to
any show held on the same day as N.N.D.R.C. Show with the exception of shows
held at the same venue as the N.N.D.R.C. Show, B.R.C. Championship Certificates
shall only be awarded to exhibits considered by the Judge to be of championship
quality. Support will be granted to an Area Netherland Dwarf Club Show if their
elected National member adult Judges is on their Club Panel even though not on
the National Panel

CHAMPIONSHIPS
SUPREME
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD
Upon
application by its owner an exhibit which has won 5 c.c.’s at National Stock
Shows (excluding support shows) shall be awarded a Club Supreme Championship and
commemorated by a single certificate.
GRAND
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD
Upon
application by its owner an exhibit which has won 5 c.c.’s under at least
three different National Dwarf Panel Judges at Area Club Shows or National Stock
Shows (excluding support shows) shall be awarded a Club Supreme Championship,
only one CC won at shows catering solely for Young Stock may be counted and be
commemorated by a single certificate.
CHAMPIONSHIP
AWARD
Upon
application by its owner and payment of the current registration fee an exhibit
which has won five Certificates of Merit under at least three different National
Dwarf Panel Judges shall be awarded a Club Championship: not more than two
certificates to be won at Shows catering solely for Young Stock may be counted.
A
Best of Breed Award (one) per application by a Three Star Fancy Panel Judge to
be accepted towards a National Championship.
13.
ALTERATION
TO RULES
The
Rules shall not be altered, expunged or added to except by postal ballot. No
resolution concerning the rules shall be effective unless approved by a minimum
of 60% of those voting in a postal ballot.
14.
THE STANDARD
On
the periodic revision of The Breed Standard any proposed amendment as the result
of the Executive recommendations and/or A.G.M. approval, must be put for
approval or otherwise to all members of the Club through the annual ballot. No
resolution concerning he standard shall be effective unless approved by a
minimum of 60% of those voting in a postal ballot.
