awful lot of moult about. All boxes chalked up, sitting in the shade, all with full working water bottles, judging began. Before long the winners began to emerge, best under 5 Colin Flowers with a stunning opal, and Best adult Kevin Farnsworth with a brilliant black otter. After much deliberation, James made the opal his BIS, very well done Colin.
Box show completed, it was time to fill our faces, people were tucking into an excellent spread, burgers, sausages, onions, coleslaw etc followed by strawberries, chocolate brownie and cream. Lots of folk chatting the afternoon away, and we even had time to look at the meerkats, alpacas, pygmy goats and a dressage event. All in all a brilliant day, Deb and I would really like to thank everyone who came along and supported the National Dwarf.
Our thoughts now turn to the YSS on Sept 17th at Grantham, let’s hope that you have bred lots of flyers and that we have a great entry, the Midland Dwarf are also holding their YSS in conjunction, so three CCs on offer for each colour class. Can you please return any trophies to Angela and George Moss, so this year’s winners are not disappointed. Early entries are appreciated, Mary Mason is taking entries.
Closely followed by our autumn show at London, we will be having our stand, so if you want to pay your subs or renew your subs for 2017 that would be great.
Our final get together of the year is the ASS at Uttoxeter racecourse on Saturday Nov 5th. We will be holding our auction of quality dwarfs at approximately 3pm on the Saturday afternoon, so please give some thought to donating a dwarf for the auction. The money is split between the donor and the club, and this is such a vital income to allow the club to hold the two day event. The AGM follows the show on the Saturday afternoon, please let us have your items for the agenda, including nominations for venues for future stock shows. We will be having our evening do at the racecourse as last year, those who came had a great night, and we hope to see you all again this year with lots more new faces. Sunday we have our Presidents show, again we hope that you can all stay and give our judges a good entry. The list of B&Bs are in the yearbook.
